art is a luxury for most people when in fact, it is like oxygen • just as vacations are scheduled to relieve pressure from work, art is an escape, a refuge, an inspiration • people do appear more intriguing, less cold, more spiritual or less pragmatic, depending on the art around them • art is the expression of an altered state • without it, humanity is atrophied • gabrielle has a strong, multivalent approach to the expression of emotions • she uses various fibers and objects to form textures of the intangible • sometimes, a formulaic script to point an idea

for humans to grow • as well as the suspension of linear thinking to be able to create on unknown
territories • aesthetic lines may connect unrelated elements to show a liberation from the rules
